Not a Moment TOO Soon & Need a Name

FINALLY…My Valentines quilt is finished and without a moment to spare. I had the binding on by 10 pm, threw it in the wash, and took it out of the drier at 11:56. The goal was to have it finished by tomorrow and I did it! GO ME!

I finished quilting it yesterday afternoon, and wasn’t sure that I liked it. This was the first time I tried my hand at stippling. The first evening I started quilting it I was happy with the way it was looking, but after my machine came back from the shop, I never could get back into the pattern I had going the fist day.

I have to admit that after removing it from the drier and seeing all it’s wrinkly crinkly goodness I was in love with it. I can’t even tell that the quilting is “off”.

I have been trying to come up with a name for this quilt (I still need to label it). I was thinking about “Seeing Red” because 1-it’s V-day quilt (red) and 2-With all the issues I had with it I was seeing red! Haven’t made a final decision though…anyone have a suggestion?

Anyway, here is a few pic. I decided to do a scrappy border on this one. I was going to do an all red plaid border, but I wanted to use the 4 other strips I had that match, so I cut 3 plaid strips to add to the other 4 and alternated them…I LOVE IT!

It looks great!! I like SEEING RED, because it will always be your little insider joke as to why it is named that. Can't believe you had 4 minutes to spare but finished it before the 14th! YEAH YOU!!!

Good for you- just under the wire! It is beautiful. I like "Seeing Red" as well.

Beautiful! "Seeing Red" doesn't sound pretty enough for the quilt, though. Maybe something more romantic or sweet. -- michele

Maybe RED CHARMER since it was your valentine charming project, and also combines your SEEING RED name in there too?

Love it! Quilting looks really good! And I love the name, wouldn't change it! The name that usually pops in your head first is the best :) Happy Valentines Day to you and your family!

I'm "Seeing Red" all over.
And how is your machine acting? Is she being agreeable?

I really love this pattern and your fabric choices!! p.s. I think your stippling is fabulous. My quilting NEVER comes out the way I want it to. Now I've just decided to chalk it up to life isn't perfect and neither are my quilts.hehehe....sets me free to keep on truckin' rather than it getting me so frustrated that I had MANY unfinished quilts because I just COULD NOT GET PAST IT for awhile. SOOO, now I happily quilt away and the best part is that the receivers of my quilts are none the wiser ;)

My label suggestion would be Red Hot Hearts Set Free. Just sayin'.........
