CGQC Quilt Along - UPDATE
Guess what was waiting for me in my mail box today? My Quilt Along fabric. I was so happy to see it there. I still need to pick up some background fabric, but at least I am getting there. I haven’t decided if I am going to do a red & white version with a red & white print (saw one I loved @ the quilt store) or red & tan with a tan background. I am so worried that the red it going to fade out on the white, and I am not sure how to treat it to keep it from happening. That would be heart breaking :( Ideas? Suggestion?

Rene: I know that there are products out there in the market, but the ole fashioned way is what I normally use. I'm a stickler when it comes to saving money these days. Soak your fabric in midly warm/hot water for about 15 min to remove any dye, swish it a bit. Rise with cold water and soak again in a tub of warm water with about 1 tablespoon of distilled vinager (1 TBSP to 1/2 Gallon of water). It won't stink, but sets the dye in your fabric. I line dry and then iron. Hope this helps you.
