Bunny Hill Jelly Bag

I started my bag yesterday evening. I worked on it for about 4 hours and this is what I have so far.

I am please with the way it is turning out. There is only one little spot that I messed up on and didn't take out on the binding. It didn't catch. It was getting late and I didn't feel like ripping it all out, so I just whip stitched it down. I need to finish the binding, handles, and buttons and it will be finished! This has been my favorite project so far. I don't know if it is because I just enjoyed making the bag or if it is because I love the Candy Kisses fabric so much...maybe a little of both!

Stacked Coin Quilt

Here is my version of the Stacked Coin Quilt. It is almost finished. I still need to go to the quilt store to get the fabric for the borders, back, and binding. Not sure when I will get that done. Does feel good to have the top almost finished.

New goodies!

I made a trip to the Quilt Shop today and look at the new goodies that came home with me...

The cutest bag pattern.

This Jelly Roll is Candy Kisses by Moda. I love it. The darker pink and red fabric is also from the Candy Kisses line. I am going to make a quilt with this fabric and I love the fabric so much I am going back to buy another Jelly Roll to use to make my bag. I will have enough to make 2 bags and have some left over...now what to do with the left overs??? I think I will make a strip of blocks to add to the backing of my quilt...maybe! LOL

Working Hard

I have been working on my stacked coins quilt this weekend. I managed to get all the strips together and cut. I have the first row sewn together and plan on finishing it today with the exception of the borders...I haven't bought the border fabric or the backing yet. I can't wait to finish this one!

Coin Quilt

I decided what I was going to do with the quilt kit I bought the other day that was missing the pattern. I purchased some solid fabrics to add to the mix and decided to make a stacked coin quilt. I am excited about this one. I have all my strips cut and a few of them sewn and cut. Here are a few pics of my progress...

New Look

I found this great site called kevenandamanda.com There are all kinds of tutorials on how to customize your blog! I am having a blast playing around. I tried to change the font, but it isn't working so far...who knows what I did wrong. I better stop messing with this and get back to quilting!

Because I'm Me is having a great quilt give a way. Here is the link to the post http://jdy2.blogspot.com/2009/07/big-quilt-give-away.html Stop by and take a peek. The quilt is very cute.

They Came!

I got my Lizzie B Cre8ive patterns in the mail today! I can't wait to get started. Man the todo list is starting to get long. Not sure what I am going to do first...hmmm.

Machine Quilting Class

I took a machine quilting class yesterday from one of our local quilt shops, Sister Scraps. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. I even learned all about binding. This is the one thing I had no idea how to do! Now I know I can do it. Below are the pics of my results... If you click on the pictures you can see the results better. Notice in the 1st one I was even able to write my name.

My free hand quilting is still quite crude, but I am sure with practice I will get better. I had the hardest time with the stippling and going around the applique. The walking foot was a breeze!

While I was there I found the most adorable stiching pattern. I plan on stitching it for a friends birthday, and then possibly turn it into a quilted cover for a 3 ring binder to create a prayer journal. I think she will love it! The picture isn't that great, but you get the idea. You can find the instructions to create a quilted binder cover at the Moda Bake Shop

I'm an idiot!

Holy Cow. I am such an idiot. I was sewing with the machine in bobbin winding mode. My husband is having a blast with this one. If he doesn't stop laughing at me soon, I am going to sew his lips together! Now I am off to finish that blanket!

UUGGGGGG

I am so frustrated this morning. I decided to do a quick project. I am making a quilted blanket for my dog. I get to a point that I need to back stitch and the darn backstich function isn't working! I am not a very experienced sewer so I haven't the first clue how to figure this out. Just when I was almost finished too.

New Patterns on their way!

I just ordered 3 new patterns and a book from Lizzie B Cre8ive. They are adorable! I can't wait until they get here...

New Purchase--Suggestions Please

I bought a kit at Joann's Fabrics. I loved the fabric, but there is a problem...No pattern included. It was suppose to include a pattern for a Windowpane quilt. So now I have seven 18" x 42" fabric and no pattern. So I am looking for suggestions as to what to do with it. I am a new quilter and this was to be my second project. I am not comfortable enough to create my own pattern for it just yet.

My 1st Quilt Top

Here are pictures of my first quilt top. The pattern is called 2 to Tango. It isn't perfect, but I am pleased with the way it came out considering it was my 1st. The bottom picture is of the backing fabric. I am taking a machine quilting class on Tuesday. I plan on finishing the quilt after the class.

Testing...

Testing out my new blog. Trying to decide on a layout. Not sure that I like this, but I don't have any more ideas....
