(I just need to get it binded) Soooo, I'll be trying to snag up some deals on flannel sheets after/before(?) Christmas.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05806433527382808106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-7935081919977857492009-12-06T17:48:24.155-06:002009-12-06T17:48:24.155-06:00Rene,

I saw on one of my other favorite blogs http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com that she uses flat sheets she buys from IKEA for some ridiculous price like $5 or something! There is an awesome IKEA in H-town if you haven't been there you should check it out. I believe they have flat sheets in practically every color imaginable. Your blog is totally cute by the way.
AnnaCrafty Girls Workshophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11244225447661249605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-73518827259019219652009-11-21T19:31:06.596-06:002009-11-21T19:31:06.596-06:00I have used several good quality sheets from thrif...I have used several good quality sheets from thrift stores as backing fabrics. I love the feel of the softness of the sheets. I have also purchased some precut sheet squares from an Etsy seller and used them in many projects.
Just the other day I saw some sheets in a local store and thought that next time I need an economical source for a specific color, I would buy a flat sheet and go for it! Sheets are great!Craft-aholichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02552725522380202293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-92061415650839241282009-11-21T17:16:18.622-06:002009-11-21T17:16:18.622-06:00I LOVE using sheets!!! And I love having fabric that is wider than the standard 44/45 inches. I like to use them for lots of other things too!Aimeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05656054579881430089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-6129356281013021252009-11-20T15:44:13.288-06:002009-11-20T15:44:13.288-06:00I've used plain white sheets for quilt backs a...I've used plain white sheets for quilt backs and been really happy with the cost and quality of fabric. I got a great set of organic bamboo sheets from Home Goods that will back two twin quilts and leaves me with pillowcases to embellish. I'd just caution to feel the fabric before you buy it, but go for it!colleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14986179374584083408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-70908861495599560572009-11-20T15:41:51.404-06:002009-11-20T15:41:51.404-06:00Absolutely! I use "vintage" sheets that I pick up at thrift stores and yard sales (AFTER I have thoroughly sanitized them LOL) to make other things too...aprons, linings for tote bags, etc. Sheets are a great low-cost fabric!
Have fun!!!

sweetjeanette.blogspot.comsweetjeanettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15957879839911335079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2587689684333832493.post-43256949599416589062009-11-20T15:02:46.769-06:002009-11-20T15:02:46.769-06:00YES, YES & YES. They can be economical, especially with the sale that you have found. So, I recommend you give it a try. Weight is a bit different than basic 100% high quality cotton for quilting, but actually the sheets really last longer and color tends to hold up quite well.

Let me know what you think after you've given it a try.

SewCalGal
www.sewcalgal.blogspot.com

PS - I hope I didn't give away my age by sharing this insight (geez....I now know I'm old).SewCalGalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02062059207544865569noreply@blogger.com
