Machine Quilting Class

I took a machine quilting class yesterday from one of our local quilt shops, Sister Scraps. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. I even learned all about binding. This is the one thing I had no idea how to do! Now I know I can do it. Below are the pics of my results... If you click on the pictures you can see the results better. Notice in the 1st one I was even able to write my name.

My free hand quilting is still quite crude, but I am sure with practice I will get better. I had the hardest time with the stippling and going around the applique. The walking foot was a breeze!

While I was there I found the most adorable stiching pattern. I plan on stitching it for a friends birthday, and then possibly turn it into a quilted cover for a 3 ring binder to create a prayer journal. I think she will love it! The picture isn't that great, but you get the idea. You can find the instructions to create a quilted binder cover at the Moda Bake Shop

Good for you doing the quilting! I adore my walking foot. Still don't have the foot for the free motion quilting but I'll be getting it tomorrow then I can start practicing! :0)
